Webcasting

CLIENT:

Faith-based institution
REQUEST:
Develop a plan to transition from a weekly audio-only podcast to a live, scalable multi-camera webcasting system. Client requested that Backstar provide a complete solution to produce, record, edit and host content for their local, regional and international visitors.
BACKSTORY:
Client enagaged Backstar for an exploratory discussion on what could be done with video webcasting. It turned out we can do a lot more than they had expected, and we eventually delivered a 3-camera robotic system with a digital switcher, a primary and back-up encoding system for streaming Windows Media and Flash video, and a very thorough training regimen which included Backstar producers shadowing the events both on-site and online as the clients gained the experience level they needed to manage a live event on their own.

CLIENT:

State Government - Transportation Department
REQUEST:
Produce a 30 second spot encouraging drivers to buckle-up ahead of the Memorial Day holiday, one of the most dangerous holiday driving weekends in the US.
BACKSTORY:
Client left us with some B-Roll news footage and a state-produced video of an officer and apparent violator receiving a ticket. In less than a day, unsupervised, we cut, composited, composed original music and delivered the spots to every major news outlet in the state.

Childrens' Experiential Retail
REQUEST:
Capture the excitement from the eyes of the customers to produce both a Video News Release (VNR) and an investors video.
BACKSTORY:
Relying on a 3-person crew, we captured the essence of the user experience from start to finish at the Grand Opening. While at the store, we conducted a series of spontaneous interviews, a virtual walk-thru of their process, and then delivered programs for broadcast, DVD, and the web.

Investor Group for an International Cafe Concept
REQUEST:
Develop a compelling video with a call to action to potential investors for a new coffee concept featuring one of the leaders in espresso coffee.
BACKSTORY:
Client provided a series of PowerPoint slideshows and an idea to elevate the sales pitch to draw in needed capital. Upon our suggestion, we quickly scripted and then recorded a voice-over using the client as talent. Using imagery provided by client, Backstar animated graphics and titles to synchronize with the sound. Project was delivered on DVD and presented to nearly 100 investors from around the world at a mission critical meeting.

Multicultural Advertising Agency
REQUEST:
Produce a high-impact animation with sound to demonstrate the agency's great work for their global consumer products client.
BACKSTORY:
Collaborating with a diverse team of account executives and management from the client, Backstar produced a voice-over in-studio, selected and acquired licensing for music, and provided a full-array of graphics and animation treatments. Our client supplied a vanilla PPT, and in turn, we delivered a 3 1/2 minute audio/visual presentation explaining the value the agency provided.
